PEST CONTROL

Roaches, ants, crickets and spiders…sometimes these pesky pests can often find a way of entering into your private space uninvited. That’s when you can call us to get rid of your uninvited PEST GUESTS! We offer one-time treatments, quarterly and monthly programs for residential as well as commercial properties. Our programs help with controlling infestation of pests entering your home and workplace. We set up regular appointments to treat all general pests; and as we treat your property, we inspect to see if there are any openings that would allow pests to enter easily. Upon inspection, we give the business owner and homeowner a detailed inspection of what was found. We go above and beyond in helping with controlling pests and keeping them where they belong….outdoors.

Ants are a very common insect. There are 12,000 species of ants on our planet.    The average ant colony contains thousands of individual ant and they typically live in structured nest communities that may be located underground, in ground-level mounds, or in trees. Carpenter ants nest in wood and can be destructive to buildings. Some species, such as army ants, defy the norm and do not have permanent homes, instead seeking out food for their enormous colonies during periods of migration.   Ant control and management around the home are important for health and safety reasons so we use integrated pest management to solve the problem.

A whole colony of termites can inflict serious structural damage on a home in a fairly short period of time. Termites are known as “silent destroyers” because of their ability to chew through wood, flooring and even wallpaper undetected. Each year, termites cause about $5 billion in property damage, which is equivalent to destruction caused by earthquakes, hurricanes and home fires.  They send their explorers, also referred to as swarmers, in search of hospitable habitats such as homes that may have sustained damage during the winter months due to rain or snow.  Because swarmers have such a similar appearance to that of a winged or flying ant, many homeowners may dismiss them as such upon finding them inside their home – a big mistake.  If swarmers determine your home to be their perfect home, it’s a safe bet the rest of their colony will follow.

Subterranean termites are found in every state except Alaska. We tend to see more Subterranean termites here in the state of Virginia.  They build distinctive “shelter tubes” to gain access to food sources and to protect themselves from open air. Subterranean termites are by far the most destructive species in the U.S.

Termite Inspection

Our professional technician will thoroughly inspect your residence and property for signs of termite activity, conduct a termite damage assessment and then will identify conditions conducive to termite infestations.  Upon completion of the inspection, we will recommend the right termite solution for your home or business.

Next to termites, mosquitoes are at the top of list of insects we love to hate! Beyond the nuisance factor, mosquitoes are carriers for some of humanity’s most deadly illnesses, and they are public enemy number one in the fight against global infectious disease. Mosquito-borne diseases cause millions of deaths worldwide every year with a disproportionate effect on children and the elderly in developing countries.

We offer a monthly Mosquito Program each year from April to October (the typical mosquito season in Virginia), to control the mosquito population.

Here are just a few ways to reduce mosquitoes in your yard:

  • Eliminate any standing water around your house and in your yard by dumping all items that could hold water after it rains (flower pot saucers, swing/play areas, tires, empty bottle tops, etc.). Water is necessary for mosquito production, so removing objects collecting water will help reduce the number of new mosquitoes.
  • Trim plants and grass. – Plant flowers/shrubs that repel mosquitoes.
  • Schedule monthly Mosquito Program controlled treatments.
  • THEN enjoy your yard!

Mosquito Treatments

We also offer Mosquito Treatments for those who would like one time treatments for outdoor special events happening at your home or company cookouts.

Bed bugs are extremely elusive creatures so professional help should be sought out when dealing with an infestation. Bed bugs have been associated with humans for more than 3,300 years and are found in virtually every place people tend to gather, including residences, hotels, schools, offices, retail stores and even public transportation.

Bed bugs likely get their name from their habit of taking refuge in beds and feeding on humans while they sleep. They feed only on blood and must have regular blood meals to survive and develop. When not feeding, bed bugs hide in a variety of places – suitcases, clothes, and linens and can end up wherever these items are taken. Each female may lay 1 to 3 eggs per day.  This is why the spread of bed bugs occurs so easily.

Don’t let the bed bugs bite! Contact us for treatment.

From time to time, rodents seem to find their way into our homes and businesses. Rats and mice have been known to spread over 35 diseases. These diseases can be spread to humans directly, through handling of rodents, through contact with rodent feces, urine, or saliva, or through rodent bites. Diseases carried by rodents can also be spread to humans indirectly, through ticks, mites or fleas that have fed on an infected rodent.

Mice can squeeze through a hole the size of a nickel, and rats can squeeze through a hole the size of a half dollar. Our job is to not only get rid of the rodents who have made its way into your personal space, but we can also help you with preventing rodents from entering your home or business by checking inside and outside of your property for gaps or holes.

We will first inspect your property for any signs of rodent activity. Rats and mice are creatures of habit and will travel the same pathways between their shelter, food and water sources. Once rodent activity is confirmed, we will then treat all areas where we see the most activity. The technician will then inform you of where they believe the rodent could be entering your home or business.

We also offer NPMA or Wood Destroying Insect Inspections (WDI) reports.  To take off a little pressure from selling a home, we will personally communicate with your realtor or closing attorney and will follow-up with all the necessary paperwork needed for closing.
